Olivia Messina and Molly Caluda, students at St. Charles Borromeo School in Destrehan, have been recently named the school’s Students of the Year. Eighth grader, Olivia is the daughter of Joe and Ronnette Messina and fifth grader, Molly is the daughter of Ronny and Michelle Caluda.
Students had to meet the following criteria: a 3.5 GPA, a biographical sketch and portfolio, along with an interview process. The students were chosen by an outside selection committee and will proceed to the Archdiocese of New Orleans level to represent St. Charles Borromeo School.

Woodruff wins District II seat by 20 votes - 633 views
The runoff election for the District II council seat ended Saturday night with a very narrow margin of victory for William "Billy" Woodruff over Mary Clulee.
