Man booked with violent Boutte rape
A 27-year-old Luling man was arrested and charged with violently raping a 43-year-old Killona woman, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Aaron Chopin, of 814 Paul Fredrick St., allegedly raped the Killona woman on Oct. 18. The woman told authorities that she was walking on a path through a wooded area near Louisiana 52 and Tinny Street in Boutte when she was attacked.
She told police that Chopin shoved her to the ground, punched her several times in the face and raped her. He also stole $30 from her, the woman reported. She identified Chopin from a police lineup, authorities say.
Chopin is being charged with aggravated rape, simple robbery, and second degree battery.
