Police: Boutte man fights off shotgun-wielding home invaders
A Boutte man that awoke to find four men in his home threatening his life was able to fight back against the invaders and capture one until help arrived, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The unusual incident began when the victim brought home a black female known only to him as “Chocolate” on Oct. 14.
Later that evening, the man brought Chocolate to a gas station on Williams Boulevard in Kenner and dropped her off with two friends.
The friends, both men, were driving a maroon Chevrolet Impala with Texas plates.
The victim said he returned home and went to sleep, but was startled from his sleep by four men who kicked in his door and pointed a shotgun in his face.
The gunman demanded money and one of the would-be-robbers repeatedly yelled “kill him,” at which time the victim was struck in the face with the shotgun, according to the incident report.
After getting hit in the face, the Boutte man fought back against his attackers and was able to gain control of the gun. Three of the home invaders fled, but one was physically detained by the victim, according to authorities.
After subduing the fourth suspect, the man called the Sheriff’s Office and was able to provide a description of the Chevrolet Impala that he had seen earlier that night.
Deputies soon spotted the vehicle on I-310 in St. Rose, but after stopping for a brief moment, the driver of the Impala sped away.
Deputies then chased the vehicle through Kenner and Jefferson Parish. St. Charles Parish deputies, along with the Louisiana State Police, eventually apprehended the men in the PetSmart parking lot on Veterans Boulevard in Metairie.
Those arrested were:
•Steven Fallon, 22, of Montegut, who was booked with armed robbery, principal to attempted first degree murder, felony carrying of an illegal weapon, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and a St. Charles Sheriff’s Office attachment;
