A 20-year-old St. Rose man was arrested for possessing more than 160 videos and images of explicit files of children on his computer, according to the Louisiana State Police.

Joseph Carroll, of 223 Eisenhower St., was arrested last week after detectives received information that he was downloading child pornography, authorities said. The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office then executed a warrant at Carroll’s residence.

While searching his home, detectives located a computer which revealed at least 162 videos and images showing the sexual exploitation of young children, according to the State Police.

Carroll was arrested and booked at the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center. His bond was set at $30,000.
