Stanley Joseph Guidry, 81, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010.

He was the beloved husband of Lois Graci Guidry and the late Leona Fabre Guidry. He was a native of St. Charles Parish and he was a resident of LaPlace for 33 years. He is survived by his children: Wayne Guidry, Kenneth Guidry, Ruth G. Ballam, Patricia Guidry and Michael Guidry; three siblings: Noah Guidry Jr., Arnold Guidry and Jeannie Palmer; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Jeanne Guidry, as well as by three siblings: Roy Guidry, Alice Buford, and Lorraine Glover; two grandsons, William “David” Spencer and Billy Arnold, and one great-granddaughter, Erica Ledger.

A Funeral Mass was held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Destrehan. Visitation began at 9 a.m. at H. C. Alexander Funeral Home, 821 Fourth St. in Norco. Interment was at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum in Destrehan. Family and friends are invited to express condolences at www.hcalexanderfuneralhome.com.

Nearly five months after 23-year-old Ramal Ellis was found shot to death behind the church where he volunteered his time, officials with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office say suspects have been identified in connection with the murder, though any arrests will have to wait until the evidence is fully processed.
