Deadline to register to vote is Aug. 30
Deadline for voter registration is Aug. 30 at the registrar of voters office in the courthouse in Hahnville. The open primary election for the St. Charles Parish school board and U. S. Congressmen will be held on Sept. 30, and the general election for both is scheduled for Nov. 7. Constitutional amendments will also be voted upon.
This will be the last open primary for federal offices in the state, including congressional offices. Louisiana will revert to party primaries for federal offices in the future.

Arrest made in connection with West Bank burglary - 2463 views
The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 29-year-old Waggaman man they believe could be responsible for up to nine home burglaries that took place in Luling and Ama in the last month.
