Black-Gautrau engagement

Mr. and Mrs. Edd Black of Crystal Springs, Miss., announce the engagement of their daughter, Monica Black, to Captain Douglas Gautrau, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Gerard Gautrau of St. Rose.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Baughman of Winter Haven, Fla., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ira Black of Bellville. She is a 1996 graduate of Clear Fork High School.  She graduated from Ohio University in Athens with a Bachelor  degree in Journalism and is employed by Superior Asphalt in Gulfport, Miss.

The groom is the grandson of Mrs. Teresa L. Kernion and the late Mr. Charles F. Kernion Jr. of Metairie, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gautrau of New Orleans. He is a 2000 graduate of Destrehan High School and a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a Bachelor degree in Atmospheric Sciences. He serves in the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron of the U.S. Air Force as an Aerial Reconnaissance Weather Officer for the Hurricane Hunters.

A fall wedding is planned at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss.
