Wayne and Lyddi Gassen of Luling are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter Malia Gloria Gassen to Edward Jason Fierro, the son of Hope Apperson of Metairie and the late Carlos Fierro Jr. of Carlsbad, N.M. Their wedding will be on Sept. 24, 2010 at Magnolia Plantation.


The bride is a 2005 graduate of St. Charles Catholic and a 2010 graduate of Delgado Community College with a degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communications. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur E. Gassen Jr. of Luling and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leander J. Troxler of Hahnville.


The groom is a 2007 graduate of Hahnville High School and is currently in the United States Navy. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Fierro Sr. of Carlsbad, N.M., and Mr. and Mrs. Milford Apperson of New Orleans.


Following the wedding, the couple plans to reside in Oak Harbor, Washington.
