Bruce Martin "Monday" Bailey
Bruce Martin “Monday” Bailey, 60, died on Sunday, August 8, 2010 of cancer at the River Parishes Hospital.
He was a long-time resident of Edgard and had also resided in Luling and LaPlace. He was preceded in death by his father, Numa “Ga’son” Bailey, and brother, Anthony. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Singleton Bailey; mother, Marjorie Sylvain Bailey; son, Marlon Washington, daughter; Brashonda Bailey, stepchildren; Nicole Williams, Christopher Williams and Deirdra Williams; four brothers: Wilton Bailey Sr., Perry Bailey Sr., Vernon Bailey Sr. and Bertrand Bailey Sr.; five sisters: Veronica Alexander, Sharon Bailey, Marsha Bailey-Cantrelle, Varilyn Roussel and Shelia Bethancourt; two grandchildren: Ca’Marli Washington and Randy Nelson; Godchild, Tyson Roussel, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial was held August 14 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Joel P. Cantones officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Baloney Funeral Home in Garyville was in charge of arrangements.
