Teen invited to attend national leadership conference
Jason Roberts, son of Barney and Robin Roberts of Hahnville, has been accepted to attend the National Young Leaders Conference in Birmingham, Ala. from Oct. 7-10. Roberts was nominated by one of his R. K. Smith Middle School teachers to attend the four-day event for high-achieving students.
Local earns scholarship for military children
William Weinell of Destrehan was recently awarded a $1,500 college scholarship as part of the Scholarships for Military Children program. He is the son of Lisa and David Weinell and will attend Louisiana State University. Weinell is also involved with Mu Alpha Theta and is an Eagle Scout.
