Arrests
•Eligia M. Ordenana, 58, of 116 Johnny Court in LaPlace, was arrested on July 17 and charged with D.W.I. and speeding.
•Arnulfo T. Montalvo, 58, of 340 Magnolia St. in Boutte, was arrested on July 17 and charged with D.W.I., reckless operation and 1st degree vehicular negligent injuring.
•Joseph B. Margavio II, 33, of 203 Devon Road in LaPlace, was arrested on July 18 and charged with D.W.I., illegal tinting of a window and 2 SCSO attachments.
•Roberto J. Aguilar, 55, of 1050 County 139 Road in Alvin, Texas, was arrested on July 19 and charged with D.W.I., limitations on backing and no insurance/accident.
•Quincy J. Peters, 24, of 2256 Hampton Drive in Harvey, was arrested on July 20 and charged with D.W.I., improper control of vehicle, failure to dim and not driving in roadway lane of traffic.
•Kathleen C. Mashburn, 48, of 5640 David Drive in Kenner, was arrested on July 20 and charged with D.W.I. and reckless operation.
•Lindsey S. Landry, 27, of 473 Estay Lane in Paradis, was arrested on July 22 and charged with possession of SCH IV - Soma, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal use of a CDS in the presence of a juvenile, drivers license not on person and reckless operation.
•Bobby R. Page, 55, of 4218 Lac Du Bay Drive in Harvey, was arrested on July 22 and charged with possession of a CDS SCH II - Crack and SCSO attachment.
Theft
•A portable GPS, total value of $250, was stolen out of a vehicle at 137 Asphodel Drive in Luling on July 18.
•A copper pipe for an exterior AC unit, total value of $800, was stolen from 11754 LA 48 in St. Rose on July 17.
•An AC unit, total value of $2,500, was stolen from 130 Louis the First St. in Luling on July 17.
•Two AC units, assorted tools, four chrome rims and a recliner, total value of $4,250, were stolen from 127 Lonestar St. in Luling on July 17.
•An AM/FM/CD stereo and an amplifier, total value of $250, were stolen out of a vehicle at 23 Ashland Drive in Destrehan on July 16.
•Thirty plastic pink flamingos, total value of $300, were stolen from 2303 Ormond Blvd. in Destrehan on July 16.
•A copper pipe and faucet, total value of $200, were stolen from 11754 LA 48 in St. Rose on July 19.
•Assorted tools, total value of $226, were stolen from 312 Mockingbird Lane in St. Rose on July 19.
•A 26” bicycle, total value of $350, was stolen from 143 Gaubert Lane in Luling on July 20.
•A computer and $10 in U.S. currency, total value of $2,010, were stolen from 155 Vans Lane in New Sarpy on July 21.
•An AC Unit, total value of $3,000, was stolen from 111 Lone Star Drive in Luling on July 21.
•A handgun and a leg holster, total value of $510, were stolen out of a vehicle at 211 White Oak Drive in St. Rose on July 21.
•An 18-volt power drill, total value of $430, was stolen from 312 Balboa Drive in Luling on July 21.
•A 9mm glock and an iPod, total value of $846, were stolen from 85 Rosedown in Destrehan on July 21.

Superintendent steps down to get down - 728 views
Dr. Rodney Lafon boiled down his decision to announce his retirement last month to a simple factor. With 40 years accumulated in the school system he had come to a point in his career where he would make nearly the same yearly salary as a retiree as if he chose to continue working.
