Kevin Frank Ernst, 57, passed away on June 15, 2010. He was a native of Victoria, Texas and a resident of Luling.

He was the beloved husband of Marietta “Missy” Ehle Ernst for the past 26 years, father of Susan Elizabeth Haydel, Dr. Shelley Erin Haydel and Steven Frank Ernst (Brooke); grandfather of Junah and Harper Ernst. He was the son of the late Frank H. Ernst and Dorothy Wedemeier Ernst, and brother of Darla E. McBroom (Randy), Dana E. Hull (George), and the late Orion Ernst. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.

Kevin was a proud United States Army veteran and was a dedicated serviceman having received several medals, including the National Defense Service Medal, Expert Badge with a Rifle Medal, Good Conduct Medal and most recently he was awarded the Louisiana Distinguished Veteran Award for 2010. He was an avid reader, dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed spending time at the beach.

Relatives and friends of the family were invited to funeral services at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home in Marrero on June 19.
