VIP: Katie Pintado and Alexa Romero

They will start their day at DHS with general classes then travel to NOCCA for classes in their specific areas of concentration.
Alexa was one of only 10 new students accepted in the Vocal Department. She will study privately and take Master Classes with classical singers when they come to New Orleans to perform with groups such as the Opera Chorus and LPO. She already studies privately with Ms. Denise Sharp at the Louisiana Academy for Performing Arts (LAPA). She studies piano with Ms. Jennifer Eastland.
Katie will be in the Musical Theatre Department. She currently takes dance classes at Labourdette School of Dance. This summer she will be performing with Community Schools Heading for Broadway Program outside New York City.

Arrest made in connection with West Bank burglary - 2489 views
The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 29-year-old Waggaman man they believe could be responsible for up to nine home burglaries that took place in Luling and Ama in the last month.
