Teacher honored by American Legion
Harry Hurst teacher, Mrs. Tammy Windmann, was selected as the American Legion Teacher of the Year by the American Legion Post 366 in Destrehan.

Mrs. Windmann was recognized for her outstanding service to the community, state, and nation by efforts to educate the children of St. Charles Parish of the effort our Veterans gave to keep our country free.

Mrs. Windmann was the driving force to bring “The Wall That Heals,” a half size replica of the Vietnam War Memorial, to our community so that students and others could see the sacrifices that were and to help heal those who lost loved ones in all wars.
