Student awarded for building boat
Congratulations to Hahnville High School Sophomore Holly Sweeney for her creation of her boat.

Approximately 100 students from Cabrini, Hahnville, Riverside and Warren Easton participated in the Northrop Grumman Engineering Day presentation.

The students were given a tour of the shipyard, information about engineering then participated in a boat building contest. Each student was given a piece of foil which was used to create a boat.

It was placed in a container with water and filled with pennies until it sunk. Holly’s boat survived with the heaviest load of 269 pennies.

She received a beautiful plaque for her accomplishment.
