Student awarded for building boat

Approximately 100 students from Cabrini, Hahnville, Riverside and Warren Easton participated in the Northrop Grumman Engineering Day presentation.
The students were given a tour of the shipyard, information about engineering then participated in a boat building contest. Each student was given a piece of foil which was used to create a boat.
It was placed in a container with water and filled with pennies until it sunk. Holly’s boat survived with the heaviest load of 269 pennies.
She received a beautiful plaque for her accomplishment.

FEMA deadline passes with no new flood rates - 606 views
After indicating they would release new flood insurance rates by June 1 to be applied to local homes under the Biggert-Waters Act, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has said the release of that information will now be delayed.
