Lauland
Micheal James Lauland on Thursday, June 29, 2006. Beloved son of Doris Lauland and Charles R. Lauland, Jr. Brother of Charles R. III, Cindy and Danielle Lauland. Leaving behind in his heart his daughters, Ashley and Micheala Lauland. Stepfather of Callie Jones. Uncle of Charles R. IV, J.J., Brandy and Jessica Lauland. Survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Age 39 years. A native of Metairie, La., and a resident of Luling, La., his entire life. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church, Luling, La., on Monday, July 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Holy Savior Cemetery, Lockport, LA. Parlors will be open Sunday, July 2, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Monday, July 3, 2006 - 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, La. Procession to Holy Family Church to leave at 10:00 a.m.
Batson
Aubrey Merrell Batson, Jr., a Quality Assurance Coordinator, St. Charles Parish Public Works, a native of Marked Tree, Arkansas and a resident of Luling, La., died on Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. in Luling, La. A U.S. Navy veteran. Age 51. Survivors include his wife, Elaine Peters Batson; father, Aubrey Merrell Batson, Sr.; 1 daughter, Mindi Batson; sister and brother in law, Peggy and Joe Falla; father and mother in law, Pete and Reenie Peters; 2 brothers in law, Mike Peters and girlfriend, Robyne Bergeron and Joseph Peters and girlfriend, Rhonda Derveloy; 1 sister in law, Marie Guillot; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by mother, Sylvia Mercedes Batson; 1 brother, William “Billy” Batons; 3 sisters: Sue Tesch, Anita Gaubert and Mary Massengale. A funeral was held at Alexander Funeral Home of Norco on July 7, 2006. Cremation followed. Alexander Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
