Arrests
•Jerod J. Joseph, 27, of 1326 Luling Estates in Luling, was arrested on Jan. 1 and charged with attempted first degree murder, aggravated burglary, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and harassing phone calls.
•Jyran McGee, 18, of 3969 Baytree St. in Vacherie, was arrested on Jan. 5 and charged with burglary of a moveable and possession of tools for a crime.
•Adrienne Harrison, 28, of 200 Sunset Ct. in Hahnville, was arrested on Jan. 3 and charged with D.W.I. and reckless operation.
•Mason Middleton, 22, of 2350 Park Place in Gretna, was arrested on Jan. 1 and charged with D.W.I., improper control of vehicle, and FUG/JPSO.
•Shirley Reynolds, 40, of 163 Hines St. in Paradis, was arrested on Dec. 30 and charged with D.W.I. and proper control of vehicle.
•Luther Morris, 46, of 607 Siebenmorgen Rd. in Conway, Ark., was arrested on Dec. 31 and charged with attempted 2nd degree murder.
•Danielle Trahan, 18, of 815 Woodward Ave. in Cleburn, Texas, was arrested on Dec. 31 and charged with theft over $500.
•John Vandenakker, 54, of 224 Riverview Drive in St. Rose, was arrested on Dec. 29 and charged with pornography with a juvenile.
Theft
•Several gallons of road diesel, total value $452, was stolen from 100 Blk. I-310 Service Road, in St. Rose on Jan. 4.
•A .38 cal. revolver, total value $600, was stolen out of a vehicle from 335 Valencia Drive in Luling on Dec. 30.
•A GPS, cell phone charger, and an IPOD Charger, total value $260, was stolen out of a vehicle from 162 Oaklawn Ridge Lane in St. Rose on Dec. 31.
•A 1998 Chrysler Sebring, total value $5,000, was stolen from 2 Crepe Myrtle Lane in St. Rose on Dec. 31.
•A cell phone, generator, and a laptop, total value $2350, were stolen from 152 Oaklawn Ridge Lane in St. Rose on Dec. 31.
•Tools, camping tent, power invertor, GPS, assorted CDs, battery charger, and a .38 cal. revolver were stolen out of a vehicle from 167 Oaklawn Ridge Lane in St. Rose on Dec. 31.
•Three orange traffic cones, total value $160, was stolen from 423 Maryland Drive in Luling on Jan. 1.
•A PS3 and assorted games, total value $620, were stolen from 161 Hollywood Park Road in Montz on Jan. 2.
•A Washer and dryer, total value $600, were stolen from 228 4th St. in St. Rose on Jan. 3.
•A stereo, amplifier, two sub woofers, leather jacket, camera, GPS system, IPOD, and an X-box were stolen out of a vehicle from 2 Crepe Myrtle Lane in St. Rose on Dec. 29.

Superintendent steps down to get down - 726 views
Dr. Rodney Lafon boiled down his decision to announce his retirement last month to a simple factor. With 40 years accumulated in the school system he had come to a point in his career where he would make nearly the same yearly salary as a retiree as if he chose to continue working.
