The Destrehan Wildcats ran over Amite 59-41 for a first round victory in the Plaquemine Holiday Classic.

There were plenty of fireworks in the first quarter, as Destrehan came out hot, scoring 18 points in that period and 19 in the second for a 37-26 lead. In the third though, Amite actually outscored the Wildcats 13-9 to cut into that margin.

But in the fourth, Destrehan got back down to business, holding Amite to only 2 points, while adding 13 of their own for the 59-41 victory.

B.J. Singleton led the Wildcats with 19 points, while Ryan Derbes added 17.
