Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all
To many it’s Merry Christmas. To others it’s Happy Holidays.
But to all, it’s a wish for a season that spreads goodwill to mankind.
It is a time when we gift others with some of the pleasures that, perhaps, they do not get throughout the year. And it is a time when we try to ease the trevails they suffer through in a life that is not always easy.
There are many Santas around St. Charles helping people to be merry and happy. It is a spirit associated with the season but exists throughout the year.
Newspapers and TV stations are replete with news about how people have contributed to a better life for others, even those they do not know personally. At times, the bad news pushes the good news aside. That’s because we need to know about the bad so we can help correct them.
But we have to go beyond the headlines and see that there is more good than bad in this world. We have come a long way in the process of making this a better life for all.
Undoubtedly, we have a long way to go. And it is our wish that this Christmas holiday begin the process to finish the job.
However we say it, may there be peace and goodwill to all.
