Area football players set to shine in River, Bayou all-star game
The HTV-Lions Club Bayou vs. the River all-star game, an annual football showdown featuring the top talents from the bayou and the river region, is set to take place at 7 p.m. on Dec. 18 at Nicholls State’s John L. Guidry Stadium in Thibodaux.
The River Region’s team consists of players from Destrehan, Hahnville, East St. John, St. James, Lutcher, St. Charles Catholic, West St. John and Riverside Academy.
Players that are scheduled to participate from Destrehan High School are wide receiver Kyron King, running back Henry Lenox, linebacker Warren Lennix, defensive tackle Calvin Ursin, offensive lineman Ashton Duhe and wide receiver Eric Johnson.
Players scheduled to participate from Hahnville High School are running back Lloyd Richard, safety Brion James, defensive end Justin Hill and offensive lineman Ryne Chiasson.
Last year the River Region squad defeated the Bayou Region team, 26-8, and improved their record to 2-1 in the game’s current all-star format.
