Herman “Jap” Kelone, Sr., 72, native of Marksville, LA, and resident of Des Allemands, passed away on Monday, Nov. 23, 2009.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Linda Schmill Kelone. Son of the late Emeric Kelone and Alma Gaspard Kelone. Father of Debra Kelone Gomez, Robin Kelone Zimmerman and Herman Kelone, Jr. Father-in-law of Kirby Gomez, Ron Zimmerman and Karen Kelone.

He is survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren, brothers Frank, Landry and Ronald Kelone and sisters Della, Darnette, Dorothy and Vicki Kelone. He was preceded in death by brothers Calvin and Thomas Kelone and sister Beula Mae Brouillette.

“Jap” was a dedicated employee of St. Charles Parish for 30 years and a parishioner of St. Gertrude Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass was held at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Des Allemands on Friday, Nov. 27. Falgout Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
