Explore the lighting, color and texture of your digital photography

Whether you like to cook or enjoy gardening, you can find a class that’s just right for you at nine convenient locations around the parish.
Listed below is the highlighted class of the week.
•Digital Photography SLRs - In this seven-week class, two-hours per week, students will learn a wide variety of skills. Bring you SLR digital camera in addition to the camera’s user’s manual.
Students will explore lighting, color, texture, shutter speed, composition and other subject matters to achieve a solid foundation in both technical and creative photographic processes both inside and outside of school.
Basic photo editing will be explored, using Photoshop CS3 in the computer lab. The class will be taught at Hahnville High School with instructor Bud Logan, professional photographer, for seven sessions - Sept. 14, 21, 28 and Oct. 5, 12, 19 and 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuition is $65.

All courses are lead by qualified instructors and pre-registration is required for all classes, so sign up today - the deadline is Aug. 31.

Little more than a week after officials from 14 parishes took a trip to Washington, D.C. to lobby against potential flood insurance rate hikes, some of those same officials convened with Sen. David Vitter at the home of a Bayou Gauche couple.
