Songy - Meyer Engagement

Barry Sr. and Rosemary Songy of Houma annonce the engagement of their daughter Laura Adele Songy to Jay Ryan Meyer, son of Alvin Jr. and Christine Meyer of Des Allemands.

The couple will exchange vows at 9:30 a.m. on July 15 in Maui, Hawaii.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Meryl LeBlanc Pellegrin and the late Myrden J. Pellegrin Sr., and Josephine Malbrough Songy and the late Stanley R. Songy Sr.

Laura is a 2000 graduate of Vanderbilt Catholic High School in Houma and a 2004 graduate of Nicholls State University in Thibodaux. She is employed by Terrebonne Parish School System.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Laura and Robert Owens Sr., and Levia D. and Alvin Meyer Sr. of Des Allemands. He is a 1999 graduate of Hahnville High School in Boutte and a 2003 graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He is employed by Monsanto Company of Luling.
