Boggan
Robert Hulon Boggan passed away on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 7:56 a.m. at St. Charles Hospital in Luling. Age 75. A native of Alvin, Texas and resident of Luling.
He was a shift supervisor with Union Carbide with 33 years of service and U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Survived by his wife, Fern Jones Boggan; three children and spouses, Terry Boggan Brandt and Erwin of Hendersonville, Tenn., Stuart Allen Boggan and Kathleen of Spring, Texas, and Steven Lane Boggan of Luling, four sisters, Lecta Gardner, Doris Boggan, Dorothy Miller, and Marvis McDaniel; five grandchildren, Sarah, Meredith, Angela, Nicole, and Jared. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Boggan Jr. and Dorothy Francis Flora Boggan. Private graveside services will be held at later date in Texas. H.C. Alexander Funeral Home of Norco in charge of arrangements.

Superintendent steps down to get down - 548 views
Dr. Rodney Lafon boiled down his decision to announce his retirement last month to a simple factor. With 40 years accumulated in the school system he had come to a point in his career where he would make nearly the same yearly salary as a retiree as if he chose to continue working.
