Edna A. Martin, 86, a native and resident of Des Allemands, died at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009. Visitation was from 6 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 27 and from 8 a.m. at the Des Allemands Mennonite Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, Malcolm Martin Jr. and wife, Barbara, and Phil Martin and wife, Lana; one daughter, Judy Beadle and husband, John; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Martin Sr.; her parents, Hamilton and Lucia Baudoin Arceneaux; one daughter, Juanita Bergeron; four brothers, Lawrence, Roy, Hamilton Jr. and Huger Arceneaux; and two sisters, Marguerite Bergeron and Celina Cortez.

She was a member of Des Allemands Mennonite Church. Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
