Stephen Jude Johnson (46) of Norco was unexpectedly welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Jan. 24, 2009. He was born Dec. 15, 1962 in Baton Rouge, and a resident of Norco for the past 25 years. Graduate of Destrehan High School and University of Phoenix.
He also attended Archbishop Rummel High School, St. Louis University (Madrid, Spain) and Louisiana State University. Owner of Rehab Technologies and co-owner of LA Rehab Products. Survived by spouse Jeannie (Gigi) Weber Johnson and children Joshua D. and wife, Nicole T. Johnson; Jessica M. Johnson and Meghan R. Johnson. Also loving "Paw Paw Steve" of Grifyn Nicole Johnson. Also survived by Parents Dwight J. and Levisa Carmouche Johnson and siblings Maria and J.D. Allen, Cheri and Rod Sommer, David and Dara Johnson, Bridget and Charlie Fontenelle, and Mark Johnson. In-laws Deanna Weber, Stan and Cheryl Weber, Stephen and Becky Weber, Alison and Danny Steib, Jami and Scotty Long, Michelle and Kevin Curlee, Tim and Kim Rebowe.
Loved by his numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, close friends and colleagues. Among numerous other attributes, he was a loyal and wonderful husband, the greatest father, best friend to his son, wonderful son, dedicated brother, amazing father-in-law, doting grandfather, caring in-law, dedicated and loving friend to many, trustworthy businessman, and most of all a devoted man of God. Stephen will be sadly missed by all. Visitation was held on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009 at The Vineyard Church in Kenner.

Little more than a week after officials from 14 parishes took a trip to Washington, D.C. to lobby against potential flood insurance rate hikes, some of those same officials convened with Sen. David Vitter at the home of a Bayou Gauche couple.
