Katie Macalusa Dufrene, 66, a resident of Boutte, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009. Visitation was from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland.
Religious service will be at noon Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home with burial in St. Charles Cemetery in Luling. She is survived by her four sons, Randy, Glenn, Darren and Todd Dufrene; two daughters, Wanda Rose and Debbie Breaux; one brother Michael Macalusa; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Lorena Macalusa; and one grandchild.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations for burial expenses. Falgout Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.

Legislators vow to help parish fight huge insurance increases - 513 views
Parish President V.J. St. Pierre, along with eight other parish presidents and representatives from five other parishes, visited Washington, D.C. to talk to officials about the potential spike in local flood insurance premiums should large portions of the Biggert-Waters Act be allowed to take effect in October.
