Larry J. Babin, age 84 years, beloved husband of Doris Melancon Babin for the past 60 years, passed away Monday, Nov. 3, 2008.
A native of New Sarpy and a resident of Norco. Father of Sandra B. Boucvalt, Craig (wife, Christina) Babin, Mark (wife, Ana) Babin, Robin B. Robicheaux (husband, Steven) and Kent Babin.
Also survived by sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Brother of Judith Caillouet, Alice Murphy and Mildred Potera. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Josephine Babin, brother Lester Babin and sister, Hilda Weber. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was also a lifelong member of the VFW and American Legion. He retired from the banking business after 50 years. Visitation was held on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial was held with interment that followed in the St. Charles Mausoleum, Destrehan. Fr. John Marse officiated. Funeral arrangements under the direction of H.C. Police dog sniffs out suspected burglar - 1162 views
