The regular meeting of the La Belle Fleur garden club was held at the home of Marie Weiler on Oct. 14 with eight members in attendance. The 50/50 was won by Karen Petit.

Plans for the Fall Progressive Dinner were finalized. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1. Drinks and appetizers will be served at Marie Weiler’s home at 5:30 p.m., salads at Lucille Schexnayder’s at 6:30 p.m., and dinner and desserts at Janie Rome’s at 7:30 p.m.

The Garden of the Month for September went to Rene and Larry Sesser, and Linda and Gary Lowery.

The club will enter a wreath designed by Betty Faucheux to be auctioned off at the Friends of the Library Christmas decoration contest. The club will hold another cookie swap this fall at the Nov. 11 meeting.

The Welcome Committee brought a plant to new neighbors Pat and Bobby Trosclair and Mickey and Melissa Vial.

The garden hint of the month is to rake leaves and cut back plants.
