Hahnville High School Hi-Steppers
The HHS team was named camp champion for flawless performances and winning the overall outstanding performance award for the fourth consecutive year.
In the large team division, the group received the Judges’ Award, superior ratings for its home routine and dances performed on the last day of competition.
The group also received first runner-up for a dance they learned during camp.
Besides the regular camp activities at dance camp, the girls were given the opportunity to show their school spirit during “nerd night.”
“All girls dressed for the part and enjoyed performing in costume,” said Angela Fenerty, parent representative for the Hi-Steppers. “The girls performed really well at camp this year, and look forward to the upcoming year.”
Throughout football season the the group perform for students and fans each Friday night at football games and put on dance routines for the basketball teams.
Chloe Crosby represents the team as captain, Tamera Lee is co-captain and Carley Faucheux is the lieutenant.
Other members are Heather Valdin, Marigny Landry, Megan Vaughn, Felicity Prosperie, Lillie Bourgeois, Megan Soulie, Andre Romero, Angelica Walton, Bethany Branson, Heather Mills, Shelli Brou, Victoria Daigle, Abby Thibodaux, Taylor Petit, Alexandre Broussard, Taylor Campbell, Bailie Guidry, Brittany Nichols, Alyssa Loup and Briana Locascio.
Members chosen for the American All-Star team, which will perform in Paris in November, are Broussard, Crosby, Faucheux, Lee, Romero, Soulie, Thibodaux, Valdin and Walton.
The girls are picked based on their character, attitude and overall dance skills.
This year's American All-Star Goodwill Performance team will be traveling to Paris, France, to perform for at EuroDisney.
During their stay in Paris, the dancers will visit the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Palace of Versailles, the Louvre and experience Paris via the Seine River - among other things.
American All-Star is a dance service based company that provides support to dance team members, dance team sponsors, and school personnel as they build and refine elementary, middle and junior high school, high school, and college dance teams.
The group also provides a variety of travel opportunities, dance opportunities, and competition opportunities to local schools.
