Bertrand R. "Bobby McGee, Da-Daddy, Bert" Braun passed away on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008 in Luling.
Beloved husband of Mary "Betty" Braun. Father of Dianna Braun Dufrene, Buddy Braun and wife Ann Champagne Braun, Brett Braun and wife Nelanne and the late Phillip W. Towndrow and Pamela Ann Rogers. Son of the late Rufus Bertrand Braun and Rose Regina Braun. Brother of Phillip Anthony Braun, Ruth Richard, Myrtle Lanclos and the late Thelma Miller Young. Also survived by eight grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Rhonda, Bert, Kristy, Tony, Tiffany and Ty; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A native of Franklin and a resident of Des Allemands. Age 80 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend the funeral. Services at Falgout Funeral Homes, 3838 Highway 1, Raceland, on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008. Interment St. Gertrude Cemetery, Des Allemands. Visitation from 10 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at the Funeral Home. Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.

Arrest made in connection with West Bank burglary - 2484 views
The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 29-year-old Waggaman man they believe could be responsible for up to nine home burglaries that took place in Luling and Ama in the last month.
