It has been more than 50 years since a St. Charles Parish Sheriff was awarded the privilege of being sworn into office four consecutive times.

During the election campaign last year, St. Charles Sheriff Greg Champagne, spoke to residents everywhere and in some cases even went door to door asking for the support of the community, and the people answered with his resounding victory.

State Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal Judge Edward Dufresne Jr. administered the oath of office to Champagne at the VFW Hall in Luling.
