Drive by shooting in Destrehan

Two people were standing in the 300 block of River Oaks when a man exited a passing vehicle and opened fire, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office.

The victims told deputies that they saw a silver-colored Chevrolet Cobalt driving past them slowly. The vehicle then stopped and an unknown black male exited the front passenger seat with what appeared to be an AK-47 assault rifle. The man then began firing at the two suspects. One of the victims was shot in the arm and leg and was transported to East Jefferson Hospital.
