St. Charles Schools name Laura Abbey High School teacher of the year

Laura, a teacher at Hahnville High School, graduated from the University of Louisiana-Monroe with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, Alternative Teaching Certification, and a Masters of Education Degree.

She is currently pursuing Gifted Certification at the University of New Orleans. She is a supervisor of student teachers for Southeastern Louisiana University, the co-chair for the Health and Human Services Smaller Learning Community, and the sponsor of the HHS Cheerleaders. Laura has been named to Who's Who Among American High School Teachers annually since 1998.
