Health sciences scholarships available
This one-time $1,000 cash award will be presented to a maximum of three high school seniors from St. Charles, St. John the Baptist and St. James parishes.
The award is given to students who plan to continue their education beyond high school in the health sciences, including, but not limited to, medicine, nursing, pharmacy and allied health.
Students who live in the River Parishes but attend school outside the River Parishes also are eligible.
Each applicant must submit a high school transcript, a list of high school activities and accomplishments, and a brief essay addressing goals and plans in health care.
Applications are available from school counselors or by writing to River Parishes Medical Society Scholarship Program, c/o Turner Medical Clinic, P.O. Box 509 Lutcher, LA 70071.
