Destrehan and Hahnville head to state finals

Several local track stars qualify for finale at LSU

Girls’ and boys’ track team members from Hahnville and Destrehan High Schools recently competed at the Class 5A Region II Track Meet. By placing in the top four of the track event, these students qualified for the State Track Meet May 6 at LSU.

Hahnville Track Team members who placed at the Region II Track Meet are Keira Davis in discus with a distance of 115-10, Ta'Neisha Steib in the long jump with a distance of 17-2.75 and Danielle Douglas in the 400 meters with a time of 58.14 and for 800 meters with a time of 2:2-.23.

Destrehan track members who placed at the Region II Track Meet are: Antonio Parker for the 400 meters with a time of 50.19, Erica Howard for 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.76, and Shaquieda Wells for 400 meters with a time of 58.94.
