Karate class for children.
When I first started working at the Herald-Guide, I didn’t realize that taking photos for my articles would be a major part of the job.
Sure, I knew how to point, click and shoot to capture a picture, but I had no concept of what was considered proper lighting or any knowledge on different angles.
I decided to register for a digital photography class through community education, and within the first meeting I learned more about my camera than any owner’s manual could have ever translated to me.
If your interested in registering for a class - and I bet you are - brochures are available at your local libraries and remember that there are over 200 classes that are interesting and well worth attending.
Registration is simple and easy and can be completed online or by dropping off an application at the St. Charles Parish School Board Office.
A sampling of this fall’s children’s classes are: St. Patrick's Day crafts, Easter crafts, babysitter training, etiquette, tennis, mad science, T-Ball, art workshops, drama class, cooking, the world of dinosaurs, manicures, soccer, Hawaiian tropical luau, zoomobile, guitar classes, Taekwondo, bugmobile, gymnastics on the Tumblebus, basic aid training, jewelry, crafts, Cinco De Mayo Mexican fiesta, spa-pampering fun, Wild West roundup, Wetland Express Mobile and lots more.
