In addition to the awards presented, Judi Betts, an artist and resident of Baton Rouge, presented SCAG president, Merrill Zeringue, with a set of books to be donated to the St. Charles Library in St. Rose along with sets to be donated to Destrehan and Hahnville High School libraries. Each set included a copy of "Painting…a QUEST toward Xtraordinary", "Watercolor, Let's Think About It!" and "To Stalk Oomingmak, An Artist's Artic Journal" all by Ms. Betts. Merrill Zeringue also presented a check to Gerri White of the St. Rose Library. The funds are presented to the library to be used to purchase art books.
The objective of the St. Charles Parish Art Guild is to enable persons with common interests in the various medias of fine art to meet together for study and discussion and encourage the talent of the membership in the interest of fine arts in the community. Members represent visual artists, from beginners to professionals as well as anyone interested in learning about the arts or wishing to support the arts.
