Mimosa Mustangs get pep talk from Saints’ fullback, Karney
Mike Karney, No. 44, fullback for the New Orleans Saints came to Luling to give the Mimosa Mustangs 11 and12-year-old recreational football team a pep-talk the night before their big play-off game where they squared off against St. Rose.

Karney focused on having a positive attitude, listening to parents, coaches, teachers and the people who really love them.

He emphasized choosing the right path in life, as in football, and not the material aspects of the pre-teen/teen world that often entice many kids to choose the wrong path.

His advice was as solid as his play on the field and the Mustangs were to ready to rock.
