Parish kids celebrate visit with war veteran

DESTREHAN - The first grade students at St. Charles Borromeo School celebrated Veteran’s Day with two retired United States servicemen.
Joseph Ruli, Seaman 1st Class Fire Controlman, United States Navy and Tommy Snakenberg, Corporal, United States Army discussed their experience during their time spent at war.
Ruli had two years service during World War II and Snakenberg had two year service during the Vietnam War.
The students spent the afternoon going to different stations where the learned many things about the different wars, duties of men and women in service and had books read to them.
