Duckworth
Rose Mary Riggio Duckworth, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 5, 2007 at River Parishes Hospital in LaPlace, LA at the age of 89.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pick 'Unk' Duckworth and her first husband, John P. Carroll, Sr. She is survived by her devoted sons, John P. Carroll and wife Lelia of Harvey, LA, Pink P. Duckworth, Sr. and wife Elaine of Luling, La and daughter, Cynthia R. Shotwell and husband Fletcher of River Ridge, LA, one brother, Charles Reggio and wife Francis of Metairie, LA; 25 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ignazio Reggio and Stefanie Defior Reggio, sons, Charles W. Carroll and wife Elaine, Grady Duckworth, Sr., Robert Duckworth and Willard Duckworth; five brothers, Sam Reggio, Salvodore Reggio, Gasper Reggio, Peter Reggio and Guy Reggio; and four sisters, Maime Robeau, Mary Parfait, Grace Allison and Barbara Wilcox. She was born in Tickfaw, LA. Mrs. Duckworth was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
She was a resident of Ormond Nursing Home in Destrehan, LA for the past 2 years and St. Charles Parish for 28 years. She was employed by Reuter's Florist, Bound Crown Bottling, Co., Great Southern Box Factory, Continental Can Co., and retired from the Jefferson Parish School System.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Service and Funeral Mass on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, LA. Interment St. Roch Cemetery #2. Visitation from 10 a.m. until funeral time Friday at the church. Falgout Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
