HERE’S TO YOU. Ava Somme’ and Bob Wittorff opened the doors of Mais Oui wine shop on May 1, and even though summer’s been a slow season, the twosome’s Portugese wine tasting last week was a big hit.

The shop offers a wide variety of wines from many countries like New Zealand, France, Italy, Germany, Argentina and Japan - just to name a few.

They offer Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Nior, Pinot Grigio and much, much more.

Somme’ says that her favorite wine is the French white-wine, Louis Latour - and her taste buds must be right on key because that’s also the shop’s best seller. Look for more tastings to come.

If you’ve driven down River Road from Hahnville to Waggaman lately, or by St. Anthony’s church in Luling, you may have been struck by a particular image; a brilliant, 10-foot high sign of Jesus as the Divine Mercy.
