DHS choir is SUPERIOR
PrintFriday, March 31, 2006: The DHS Chamber Singers received Sweepstakes (all Superior Ratings) and the DHS Concert Choir received Superior ratings on stage and Excellent ratings in sight-reading.
Both groups qualified for the state Large Ensemble Festival to be held in Lake Charles, Louisiana during the first week of May. This is the second year in a row the Chamber singers received Sweepstakes at District festival. It is the second year in a row both Concert Choir and Chamber Singers qualified for State Festival. The choirs are directed by Michael Townsend.

Little more than a week after officials from 14 parishes took a trip to Washington, D.C. to lobby against potential flood insurance rate hikes, some of those same officials convened with Sen. David Vitter at the home of a Bayou Gauche couple.
