Atmos meter-reader Brent Somme’ was captured by the Herald-Guide cameras early one August morning checking gas meters on Cottage Drive in Luling.

“We got these in January,” said Somme’ - talking about the electric Segway he was zipping around on. “It makes my job a lot more fun,” he added with a laugh. Somme’ is 36 years old, single and lives in Des Allemands.
