Theresa Mae Simoneaux Deroche, 74, a native of Vacherie and resident of St. Charles Parish, died after a long battle with cancer at 12:37 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2007.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft. The Rev. Bernard C. Francis is officiating the funeral services.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Larry Deroche; two sons, Glenn and Larry Deroche Jr.; two daughters-in-law, Catherine Simon Deroche and Melanie Gravois Deroche; one brother, Leroy Simoneaux and wife, Sylvia; one sister, Lillie Mae Ruelet; five grandchildren, Laura Deroche Becnel and husband, Billy, Daniel Deroche, Christopher Deroche and wife, Annie, Lizzie Deroche Daigle and husband, Fredi, and Angelle Deroche; and four great-grandchildren, Layne and Sydney Becnel and Andi and Alec Daigle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Elida Rivere Simoneaux; four brothers, Bruno, Gabriel, Allen and Eugene Simoneaux; and two sisters, Mildred Tregre and Grace Deroche.
She was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville.
She will always be remembered as one who put family and friends ahead of herself.

Claudia Eulalie Bergeron Champagne
Claudia Eulalie Bergeron Champagne, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 7, 2007. Beloved wife of the late Clarence J. Champagne. Mother of Shirley Leblanc and her husband Marvin. Grandmother of Eric Leblanc. Great grandmother of Ryan, Brandon and Gabrielle Leblanc. Daughter of the late Adam and Lize Griffin Bergeron. Sister of Josephine Arceneaux and the late Enite Monier, Alex Bergeron Lucille Zeringue, Lucien Bergeron and Percy Bergeron. A native of Paradis, and a resident of Des Allemands, La. Age 84 years old. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday, July 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Des Allemands Mennonite Church. Interment to be held at the Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation was from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1l, and from 8:00 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Des Allemands Mennoite Church. In lieu of flowers donations to the Mennoite Scholarship fund are being accepted. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
George H. Kane
George H. Kane, 84, a native of Luling, died on July 4, 2007. He was a retired pipefitter of Local 60 Plumbers and Steamfitters. Mr. Kane was born in Chicago and lived in New Orleans and Arabi. He was a World War II Veteran who worked as a machinist. He was a life member of the of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3750, American Legion Post 131, military order of the Purple Heart Chapter 1955 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 37. He was also a life member of the following associations, 82 Airborne Division, 551st Parachute Infantry Battalion and the 504th Parachute Infantry Regimen. He is survived by his wife Dorothea A. Brunner Kane, and numerous, nieces and nephews. He is preceeded in death by his parents Helen Kane and Edward Kane, Sr. and brothers, Edward Kane Jr., and Gregory Kane.
Betty Melancon Hogan
Betty Melacon Hogan, age 63, a native of Raceland, and a resident of Paradis, died on Monday, July 9. at 3:50 p.m. Beloved wife of Kenneth Hogan. Mother of Rhonda Cantrelle and her husband Shane, Michael Hogan and his wife Heather, Michelle Tate and her husband Stephen. Grandmother of Derek and Dustin Cantrelle, Christopher Tate, Taylor and Jourdyn Hogan. Daughter of the late Joseph and Leah Tardiff Melancon. Sister of the late Russell Melancon Sr. and Rose Melancon Warren. She was a retired teacher form the St. Charles Parish School System. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in Paradis. on Wednesday, July 11. Interment was held at the St. Charles Cemetery in Luling. Falgout Funeral Homes was in charge of the arrangements.
