Reader says illegal fireworks are dangerous, harmful and frightening
I would like to commend St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne on his efforts concerning regulation of fireworks in our parish. They are illegal in St. Charles Parish, and if people want to shoot fireworks, let them go to the neighborhood parishes where they are sold.
We all have our rights, and some say shooting fireworks is their right. I agree, as long as they are in a legal position.
However, I have my rights also, and I have the right not to be disturbed by loud noises that are unnecessary.
Fireworks are dangerous, harmful and frightening. Citizens are worried about fireworks landing on their roof and having to pick up spent rockets in their yard.
