The Willie Whitehead Foundation, will be hosting a free one day event for boys between the ages of 7 through 12 years old at the NFL YET Center on 1140 Southbroad Street in New Orleans, Saturday, June 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
New Orleans Saints football players, Willie Whitehead, defensive tackle, Reggie Bush and Deuce Mccallister, running backs will be attending the event. BOUTTE - The St. Charles Community Outreach Foundation will sponsor its fourth annual summer camp from June 11 through June 22 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the John L. Dorsey Multipurpose Center.
Local students in fourth through ninth grade from low-income households are eligible to attend. The camp is limited to 40 students.
The art section will include arts and crafts, dance, music and poetry. The science section will focus on physical science lectures, experiments, engineering kits and biotech workshop.
The art class will be taught by Ogreta Colly a retired teacher. The science camp will be taught Betty Wheeler, a teacher at Lakewood Elementary. A field trip is planned to the LSU Rural Life Museum in Baton Rouge. For information, call 985-785-1351.It’s time for the Catfish Festival
