Boys Track

Season update: Congratulations to Coach Ulysses Frontha and the boys track team for winning the District 5-5A championship.

Girls Softball

Season update: The varsity play-off game in Shreveport resulted in a loss for Destrehan, 7 - 3. Wildcats stayed on top until mid-game when Byrd hit a grand slam. Although all DHS players had hits, it was not enough to defeat Byrd. The season is now over for this year.

Need to fix for next season: Pitcher, Julie Beaugh, says, "Next year - work on eliminating careless errors, hit the ball better like we did at beginning of this season. Since both starting pitchers are good, be sure to have a strong pitcher for next year. Overall, it was a significant season."

Desty Darlings

Season update: The Desty Darlings held tryouts for the 2007 - 2008 team April 16 through 20. With a total of 43 girls trying out, 28 girls made the team, with a spot promised for the upcoming 4th year members. During tryouts, the girls learned a choregraphed jazz and kick routine. The girls performed for a panel of judges in groups of 3 or 4. Each girl individually showed the judges basic Desty standards for being selected for the team. Congratulations to the following new, and returning, Desty Darlings:

Ashley Able, Randi Marshall, Erika Beck, Lacyce Mizell, Katelyn Benedetto, Victoria Pellerin, Autumn Billings, Melissa Pick, Hannah Bodin, Laney Pitts, Kelsey Boudreaux, Raegan Porter, Britney Bruno, Baileigh Rebowe, Kaitlin Dempsey, Taylor Rebowe, Holly Goloforo, Rachel Respess, Brittney Harper, Courtney Rome, Courtney Harper , Katelyn Ryan, Jaci Jamieson, Brittany Sellars, Jordan Jamieson, Amanda Sensebe, Jaquil Jones, Jessica Stonestreet, Jasmine Joseph, Maci Walsh, Jardin Joseph, Bethany Walts, Taylor Krupp, Kartene Woods, Aimee Latour.
