Seventeen St. Charles Parish Public School students were honored at the Annual Cox Inspirational Heroes program held at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner and that makes them this week’s Very Important Parishioners.

The following kids were recognized: Sofya Luter - A. A. Songy Kindergarten Center, Drake Sanders -Albert Cammon Middle School, Kelcie Matherne - Allemands Elementary School, Stephanie Jo Rizzo - Destrehan High School, Princess Vinnett - Ethel Schoeffner Elementary School, Heidi Burnum - Hahnville High School, Jamar Davis - Harry Hurst Middle School, Destiny St. Amant - J.B. Martin Middle School, Tiffany Richardson - Lakewood Elementary School, Lance Boyd -Luling Elementary School, Jamar Davis - Mimosa Park Elementary School, Paul Sullivan - New Sarpy Elementary School, Isaiah Williams - New Sarpy Kindergarten School, Riley Zeringue - Norco Elementary K-3 School, Kelvin Noble - Norco Elementary 4-6 School, Kailen Dufrene - R. J. Vial Elementary School, Rebcca Moran - R.K. Smith Middle School, Elise Francois - St. Rose Elementary School.


The purose of this event is to recognize children who are leading meaningful and productive lives while working very hard to overcome personal adversities.

Each hero was presented with a certificate and fleece blanket.
