Doucet
Angela Bourgeois Doucet, age 82, passed away on Sunday, April 15. Beloved wife of the late Merston Joseph Doucet. Loving and caring mother of Effie Doucet Benoit and M. Jodie Doucet. Grandmother of four wonderful adults and greeat grandmother of four beatuiful children. She is also survived by sisters Gladys Lantz and Hazel Veillon and brothe Edgar Bourgeois. Resident of Luling for the past 47 years, she retired as an assistant librarian at the St. Charles Parish Public Library. Loved by so many, she will be missed by all. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 19. Visitation will be from 8:30 - 11:00 a.m. at the church Internent will be at the St. Charles Cemetery in Luling. West Side/ Leitz Eagan arrangments. For more information call 341-9421.
Dubea
Ourlie Matherne Folse Dubea passed away on Thursday, April 12 at 9:45 a.m. in Raceland. Beloved wife of the late Charles V. Folse Sr. by 1st marriage and the late Lionel Dubea Sr. by 2nd marriage. Mother of Malcom P. Folse and the late Charles V. Folse Jr. Daughter of the late Eloi and Emma Herbert Matherne. She was the last of 12 brothers and sisters. Also survived by 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A native and resident of Des Allemands. She was 95 years old. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Des Allemands on Saturday, April 14 at 11 a.m. Interment St. Gertrude Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time on Saturday at St. Gertrude Catholic Church. Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
Gaupp
Dr. Myles (Doc) Gaupp Sr. passed away on Friday, April 6 at 11 p.m. He passed away from heart failure. Beloved husband of the late Wayne Gaupp. Father of Dr. Myles Gaupp Jr., Karen Gaupp-Wozniak, Stephanie G. Johnston and the late Gregory Gaupp. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Son of the late Frank and Beatrice Gaupp. Brother of Frank Gaupp, Beatrice (Bea) Mestaver and the late (junior) Guapp. He was 82 years old and a native of New Orleans, resident of Destrehan for the past 50 years. Relatives and friends of the family also members of the Harry Hurst Tutoring Program, New Orleans and Riverparishes Medical Society and Madere Advocacy Center are invited to attend services. Visitation at Millet- Guidry Funeral home on Monday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Followed by religious services at the Funeral Home Chapel at 12 p.m. Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan.

Superintendent steps down to get down - 721 views
Dr. Rodney Lafon boiled down his decision to announce his retirement last month to a simple factor. With 40 years accumulated in the school system he had come to a point in his career where he would make nearly the same yearly salary as a retiree as if he chose to continue working.
